How to Use RoboticsCareer.org to Discover Your Local College’s Programs

July 21, 2021

While some robotics courses and programs can be completed online from any remote location with internet access, there is value in considering onsite learning because of the hands-on experience you get working with robots. For many people, local access to an educational organization is very important when considering how to fit a robotics education into an already busy day-to-day life.

Other people simply prefer a certain college and are hoping to complete their learning at that institution, but they’re not sure what the college offers in terms of robotics.

Luckily, RoboticsCareer.org is perfectly suited for both situations. Our powerful search tool can find organizations all around the country and filter the results based on location.

Below, we’ll walk you through the process for both situations.

Using the Search Tool to Discover Local Organizations

So let’s say you’re interested in a career in robotics, but you’re not sure if there are any local organizations that offer the necessary education. There are two ways to do this, and both are easy and fast!

The first method is only doable if you have location tracking enabled in your browser. In this case, you simply navigate to the search bar on the RoboticsCareer.org homepage and click on “Find programs close to me” on the bottom right.

If you don’t have location tracking enabled, the process has a few more steps.

  1. Go to the RoboticsCareer.org homepage and navigate to the search tool at the top of the screen.
  2. Leave the “Keywords” field empty.
  3. Under “Search Type,” click the drop down menu and select “Organization.” Searching for programs will return specific courses, but searching for organizations will return schools and organizations.
  4. Select your state and city.
  5. Click on the “Search” button.

For example, let’s assume for a moment that you live in Pittsburgh, PA. Just select Pennsylvania for the state and Pittsburgh for the city and click the search button.  The search will yield 22 results

Under each result will be a paragraph-long description of the college. Click on that description and the map on the right will be replaced with an information panel for the organization. Within that description, you will see three clickable links: “Contact Organization” on the upper right of the panel underneath the image, “Learn more about [Organization Name]” below the Organization Description, and “View programs offered by [Organization Name]” below that.

We suggest beginning by clicking on that last link to find out if the college offers what you’re looking for.

Using the Search Tool to Discover a Local Organization’s Program Offerings

Perhaps you already have a school in mind that you would like to attend. Maybe it’s close to your home and convenient, or maybe you’ve heard good things about it and feel confident that it can provide you with the education you’re looking for.

Our search tool is great for finding programs at specific schools!

For this example, let’s say you live in Cleveland, Ohio, and you’ve already decided that you want to attend Cuyahoga Community College. However, you’re not sure which programs they offer that would be suitable for your dream of working with robots.

Just follow these steps and you’ll find everything you need:

  1. Go to the RoboticsCareer.org homepage and navigate to the search tool at the top of the screen.
  2. Under “Keywords,” type “Cuyahoga Community College,” including the quotation marks.
  3. Click on the “Search” button and off we go!

You’ll notice that you’re immediately taken to a list of available programs at Cuyahoga Community College

Perhaps that top offering, the Automation Maintenance program, looks the most enticing to you. Click on that program and the panel on the right will be replaced with the program’s information. At the bottom of that panel is a link that will take you to the school’s program page and get you on your way.

The First Step Can Be the Hardest

Embarking on a new career path can be daunting, to say the least. Often, the most difficult part is getting started and taking that first step into the future.

That’s why the ARM Institute made RoboticsCareer.org. We want it to be as easy as possible to take that first step and find the perfect program at the perfect institution.

Robotics is a relatively new technological advancement that’s reshaping the way we think about manufacturing and industry. As such there is a need for skilled workers to help bring this technology to fruition. It’s an exciting career path that will see you at the forefront of discovery and innovation in a way that will challenge you and spark the imagination.

However, all great journeys must begin with that first step. Take your step today at RoboticsCareer.org.
