ARM Institute Announces Appointment of Ms. Louisa Michaels as Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Michaels joins the ARM Institute from Carnegie Robotics

July 20, Pittsburgh, PA – The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, a Department of Defense-funded Manufacturing Innovation Institute that is a partner with the Manufacturing USA® network, has announced that Ms. Louisa Michaels will join the organization as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective July 30, 2021.

The ARM Institute is the nation’s leading collaborative in robotics and workforce innovation, working at the confluence of industry, government, and academia. Structured as a public-private partnership, the ARM Institute and its member organizations catalyze robotic technologies and workforce solutions to strengthen the U.S. industrial defense base and secure U.S. manufacturing resiliency. The Institute’s diverse membership base includes start-ups, robotics suppliers, research universities, community colleges, manufacturers of all sizes, unions, government agencies, workforce development organizations, and more.

Ms. Michaels joins the ARM Institute from Carnegie Robotics, where she progressed through senior leadership roles including her most recent role as the Director of Finance & People.  Ms. Michaels has broad experience in both commercial and government contracting and compliance, and many other aspects of finance, controls, legal and human resource management.  She is very engaged in the Pittsburgh robotics ecosystem, including acting as an Advisory Board Member of the Pittsburgh Robotics Network. Ms. Michaels holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University, Connecticut.

The ARM Institute also announces that current CFO Elaine Zevkovich is transitioning into a newly created role as Senior Financial Analysis Manager, also effective July 30. Ms. Zevkovich played a pivotal role in the Institute’s early growth, managing finance, HR, benefits, contracts, and legal activities. In her new role, Ms. Zevkovich will focus her expertise on the financial management and modeling of grant and funding opportunities for the Institute.
