ARM Institute Board Announces One Month Delay in Start Date for Incoming CEO Mr. Ira Moskowitz

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Requested Mr. Moskowitz to Aid in COVID-19 Efforts

April 21, Pittsburgh, PA – The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute (ARM) has announced a one-month delay of the start date for incoming CEO, Mr. Ira Moskowitz.

The ARM Institute is the nation’s leading collaborative in robotics and workforce innovation. Structured as a public-private partnership, the organization accelerates transformative robotic technologies and education to increase U.S. global manufacturing competitiveness. Founded in January 2017 in Pittsburgh, PA by Carnegie Mellon University as an independent non-profit funded by the Department of Defense (DoD), ARM is part of the Manufacturing USA® network.

In a press release issued on March 11, 2020, it was announced that Mr. Moskowitz would start on May 5, 2020. This has now been pushed to June 8, 2020. Mr. Moskowitz has been tasked by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to organize and coordinate a state-wide effort to create new supply chains for masks, respirators, gowns, ventilators and other products to combat the COVID-19 virus.

“The ARM Institute Board, leadership and staff are enthusiastically looking forward to Ira joining our organization as the new CEO in June”, said Dr. Gary Fedder, member of ARM’s Board of Directors and interim CEO. “Ira’s expertise and leadership skills are critical to helping Massachusetts launch this supply-chain effort in response to the COVID-19 crisis, so we are very supportive of this brief delay”.

Details on Mr. Moskowitz’s appointment as CEO can be found here.
