ARM Institute Issues 2025 Impact Report

May 27, 2026

Screengrab of the Impact Report front cover

May 27, 2026 – Today, the ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) Institute is proud to issue its calendar year 2025 Impact Report. Within this report, you’ll find brief details about the impact generated by the ARM Institute and our consortium comprised of more than 500 member organizations and thousands of individual subject matter experts across industry, government, and academia.

Through this report, you can learn how the ARM Institute supports key Department of War initiatives, how ARM Institute programs (such as ARM Institute Automation Services and RoboticsCareer.org) strengthen US manufacturing, how our 500 member organizations collaborate with us through technology projects and other key initiatives, how we work to grow and empower the US manufacturing workforce, and you’ll learn more about continuing areas of focus for the ARM Institute, which include physical artificial intelligence (AI), Organic Industrial Base (OIB) modernization, and robotics forging and casting.

From project highlights to new opportunities, our report offers a comprehensive view not just of our impact across calendar year 2025, but of areas of focus moving forward for the ARM Institute.

Consortium & Engagement

The Member Consortium is the foundational strength of the ARM Institute. By joining our consortium, you gain access to a curated network of collaborators and solutions, have access to member-exclusive events where you can network and grow your business opportunities, and have the ability to influence our technology and workforce direction to ensure that the robotics, physical AI, and workforce solutions and programs built by the ARM Institute will have a tangible impact on the national manufacturing sector and your organization.

  • Nearly 500 member organizations engaged with thousands of individual subject matter experts.

  • 2,400+ individuals attended in-person or virtual ARM Institute events, workshops, and webinars.

Technology Development & Resources

From funded projects that aim to grow US manufacturing nationally to personalized resources customized for individual manufacturers, the ARM Institute’s technology resources are built to accelerate the use of robotics and physical AI in manufacturing. ARM Institute projects, funded through Project Calls, catalyze collaboration between our member organizations and bridge the gaps between industry, government, and academia to spur impactful solutions for the benefit of our nation.

ARM Institute Automation Services, successfully piloted under the ARM Institute’s Robotics Manufacturing Hub program, help individual manufacturers de-risk robotics and automation for their factory floor by leveraging the ARM Institute as their expert, unbiased automation partner. Without the pressure to purchase equipment, our Automation Services program helps manufacturers objectively understand where robotics can – and cannot – strengthen their operations.

  • 14 Tech Projects completed in 2025 with more than 150 completed since the institute’s inception.

  • 18 Tech Projects started.

  • $3.8M in funding awarded for Tech Projects.

  • Six Tech Project Calls issued addressing topics such as robotics for casting/forging, physical AI, Maritime Industrial Base, and others.

  • 48 site visits completed via the Robotics Manufacturing Hub & ARM Institute Automation Services to directly help manufacturers develop robotics solutions with 27 custom developed solutions to help manufacturers implement automation.*

  • 50% implementation rate for developed solutions.*

  • $1.25M in investments made to ARM Members, integrators, and suppliers through collaborative implementation projects.*

  • 21 defense suppliers assisted through our automation services.*

*Metics with an asterisk include metrics generated prior to calendar year 2025.

Education & Workforce Development Programs

The nature of work in manufacturing is constantly evolving. While robotics offered one disruption, the use of AI offers yet another in an industry already facing a historic skills gap. The ARM Institute, in collaboration with its member consortium, is leading the way to building a skilled pipeline of talent through our national workforce resource, RoboticsCareer.org. This platform helps job seekers connect to personalized job postings, connects hiring employers to qualified candidates through the nation’s only talent database for robotic manufacturing talent, helps training program providers connect to interested students, and more. The ARM Institute takes a holistic approach to workforce development by generating student interest in manufacturing careers, helping workers changing industries discover manufacturing as a career pathway, and helping those with robotics skills connect to manufacturing roles.

Beyond RoboticsCareer.org, the ARM Institute’s Education & Workforce team helps individual manufacturers understand their workforce needs through the ARM Institute’s Automation Services. The institute leverages a consortium-backed, data-driven methodology to evaluate workforce needs, identify gaps, and develop targeted workforce solutions.

  • 119,000+ visitors leveraged RoboticsCareer.org in 2025 to connect to jobs, training, and other robotics resources for manufacturing.
  • 16,700+ training programs listed on RoboticsCareer.org with 36 Endorsed programs.

  • Thousands of jobs updated bi-weekly on RoboticsCareer.org. Users have connected with job opportunities 1,500+ times.

Go Beyond the Report: Collaborate to Accelerate the Use of Robotics & Physical AI in Manufacturing
