Ira Moskowitz, ARM Institute CEO, recently joined ARM Member MassRobotics for a panel discussion marking the organization’s fifth anniversary. To mark this milestone, Ira joined U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, Tom Ryden (Executive Director at MassRobotics) Julie Shah (Associate Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and Scott Kirsner (Contributing Editor at The Boston Globe) for a panel discussion about the impact of robotics on the workforce.
During the panel, Ira discussed his recent conversation with President Biden about combatting the false narrative that robots take jobs. Following this theme, Ira also detailed the ARM Institute’s efforts to engage with the Hazelwood Community, the Pittsburgh neighborhood where our Mill 19 headquarters is located, to reach potential, underrepresented manufacturing workers. On a national level, Ira discussed how our RoboticsCareer.org resource introduces workers and students to potential robotics career pathways in manufacturing and the training needed for these careers.
MassRobotics has been an ARM Institute member since our inception in 2017. MassRobotics helps to enable and grow the next generation of robotics and smart connected device companies by providing entrepreneurs and innovators with the facilities and resources they need to develop, prototype, test, challenge and nurture early ideas.
