Jay Douglass, ARM Institute Chief Operating Officer, recently sat down with Industrial Solutions Network by CED and the Manufacturing Happy Hour for their Made Here City Series! In this interview that took place on-site at our Pittsburgh headquarters, Jay explored the ARM Institute’s history, our recent milestones, how we work with our 450+ member organization consortium to strengthen US manufacturing, Jay’s familial connections to Mill 19, and more. Check it out above!
The Made Here City Series focuses on individuals in a given city that drive manufacturing forward. Manufacturing Happy Hour interviews and shares the stories of some of the best manufacturers, OEMs, integrators and local solution providers in our communities, from around the country. We were honored to host this series at our headquarters for their Pittsburgh feature.
You could say that Pittsburgh is on the cusp of an industrial renaissance driven by robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence, but the truth is that it’s well underway. Their tight-knit community sets them apart as a place where people and technology grow together, making real progress possible. We explore the players in this progress-driven tech community and how they are taking the technology from the lab into real applications.
While the ARM Institute has a national focus, we’re proud to call Pittsburgh home. With our building sitting under the skeleton of a former steel mill, our headquarters goes beyond the metaphorical to show just how manufacturing is evolving and rising thanks to robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). We’re proud of Pittsburgh’s past and energized by driving the future of US manufacturing in Pittsburgh and across the nation.
Walking Tour of Our Robotics Manufacturing Hub
While on-site, we also walked the team through our Robotics Manufacturing Hub, which helps manufacturers de-risk and implement robotics solutions. Through the Robotics Manufacturing Hub, our team of experts help manufacturers assess their operations, feel secure in their robotics investment, ensure they get the highest ROI possible, and test customized solutions, all with out the pressure to install or purchase a system.
We act as an extension of a manufacturer’s team to help them objectively evaluate how robotics, AI, and automation can help their organization capitalize on the growing importance of U.S. manufacturing. Our staff, powered by over 2,000 robotics experts in the nation’s largest consortium, helps manufacturers get the most of your robotics investment.
Small and medium-sized manufacturers in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region can leverage Robotics Manufacturing Hub services at no-cost until September 2026.
