RoboticsCareer.org is the ARM Institute’s national workforce resource that connects students, workers, manufacturers, employers, and training providers to empower and grow the national manufacturing workforce. Our animated video brings the story of RoboticsCareer.org to life and shows how our resource connects the full ecosystem needed to fill the manufacturing workforce training gap, which is predicted to leave 2.4M jobs unfilled due to a lack of trained workers within the next decade without intervention.
The video starts by introducing Sam, a student with an interest in robotics, but outdated views of the manufacturing industry. We then introduce Laura, an educator at a Community College who has trouble finding students for her college’s robotics manufacturing training program. Finally, we meet Darius, a manufacturer who is struggling to find trained workers.
Each character in the story is critical to each other’s success and key to strengthening U.S. manufacturing, but how do they find each other? That’s where RoboticsCareer.org connects the dots. The student, Sam, finds Laura’s training program on RoboticsCareer.org. Darius, knowing that he must upskill his current workforce and find new workers, also finds Laura’s training program on the site. This leads to a new partnership between Laura’s Community College and Darius’ manufacturing plant, directly leading to Sam getting a job working with robots on the manufacturing floor.
Beyond the animated story, RoboticsCareer.org is making an impact on the industry. This comprehensive resource corrects misconceptions about the manufacturing industry, demystifies robotics career paths, endorses the most effective training for these careers, houses a robust database of 16,000+ training programs, and provides custom training matches that align directly with the searcher’s goals.
