July 18, 2023 – Lisa Masciantonio, ARM Institute Chief Workforce Officer, represented the ARM Institute at an invitation-only event to celebrate the White House’s workforce hubs initiative, which saw Pittsburgh being named one of five workforce hubs to help bolster the economy. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden headlined the event with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and acting Labor Secretary Julie Su. The visit was one of several stops included on the Biden administration’s Investing in America Tour. During the event, Dr. Biden called out ARM Institute Member Partner4Work for their progress in developing new training pathways.
The White House’s Workforce Hubs program is “a collaborative agency effort to align on guideposts to build our workforce by ensuring every American—whether they go to college or not—will have equitable access to high-quality training, education, and services that provide a path to a good career without leaving their community.”
The ARM Institute looks forward to supporting this initiative through Pittsburgh’s workforce hub, which aligns directly with the Institute’s efforts to empower the U.S. manufacturing workforce, engage the next generation of manufacturers, and upskill/reskill workers into robotics roles in manufacturing. These efforts are detailed on our national workforce resource, RoboticsCareer.org. RoboticsCareer.org supports the full manufacturing ecosystem, helps connect students to robotics in manufacturing training programs, outlines career pathways, and helps personally match users to robotics career opportunities in manufacturing that match their goals and skills.
“A job is about more than a paycheck. It’s a path—a way to build the lives we want.” – Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States. Read Dr. Biden’s full remarks here.
