Site Visit & Automation Assessment
Once you complete our form or reach out to us at [email protected], we’ll work with you to schedule an in-person site visit during which our robotics engineering experts will evaluate your operations and identify where robotics and automation can solve challenges, enhance your existing manufacturing operations, and augment your manufacturing workforce gaps. From there, we’ll generate a robust Automation Assessment detailing our findings and walk you through our learnings.
You’ll leave this session with a clear understanding about where robotics and automation can help you with a keen focus on where automated solutions can provide you with the highest ROI possible and solve your challenges.
Requirements Definition
If you opt to move forward following the Automation Assessment, our team will collaborate with you to define the requirements for your robotics solution. This ensures that our proposed approach will fit within your operations and will be personalized to your needs. This piece may include details about additional training for your workforce.
Because we take a fully customized approach to each client, the results of your assessment will inform our next step.
Proof-of-Concept Testing or Off-the-Shelf Matching Support
Proof-of-Concept Testing: Your operations are customized to you, so you may need a tailored robotics solution. If our team discovers that an immediately off-the-shelf robotic system won’t fit your needs, we’ll work with you to develop a customized proof-of-concept using our team of robotics engineering experts. Unlike traditional consulting services, we’ll develop a proof-of-concept for you without requiring a commitment to purchasing any equipment or installing the system.
This enables you to test and get hands-on with a solution built specifically for you and approve a system before moving forward with any purchases.
If you decide to install the system we test for you (and most manufacturers do), our team will continue to support you through the implementation process.
Off-the-Shelf Matching Support: There are countless organizations developing robotics solutions and new robotics start-ups rapidly being generated; we should know, they’re all a part of our member consortium. Our team is up-to-date on the latest robotics solutions. If we discover that an off-the-shelf robotics solution will address your needs, our team will personally match you to recommended solutions and continue to support you through the implementation process.
RFP Support & Integrator Matching through Implementation
Your team’s time is invaluable – using the Robotics Manufacturing Hub to manage your RFP process frees up your workforce to focus on more valuable tasks. Our team will create the request for proposal (RFP) for installing the approved system, send the RFP to a curated list within our network of robotics integrators, meet with interested integrators, and provide you with recommendations as to which integrator will best fit your needs and will be most cost-effective.
From there, we’ll hand off the connection and you’ll be well on your way to installing a tested and proven robotics system!
Free for Qualifying Manufacturers in Southwestern Pennsylvania
Through a special grant awarded by the Department of Commerce to the Pittsburgh region, we also offer free Robotics Manufacturing Hub services for small and medium-sized manufacturers in the Pittsburgh region with operations in one the following Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, or Westmoreland. Manufacturers must also fit into the small and medium sized range, defined as having 500 or fewer employees and less than $100M in annual revenue.
This grant is active for the next 12-months only! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to evaluate robotic solutions at no cost. Get started by completing the form below or emailing [email protected].

Why Robotics & Automation
The use of robotics and automation is integral to re-shoring manufacturing and revitalizing the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). As manufacturers contend with a historic workforce gap and pressure increases to lessen reliance on off-shore manufacturing, robotics holds the key to unlocking our nation’s full manufacturing potential. This means more opportunities for U.S. workers, increased efficiency, higher outputs, better margins, greater consistency, and a more resilient nation.
Why the Robotics Manufacturing Hub
The ARM Institute and our team of experts have catalyzed and implemented hundreds of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) projects since the institute’s inception in 2017. From surface finishing and AI for inspection to textile manufacturing, aerospace solutions, and more, we’ve seen it all. Plus, the Robotics Manufacturing Hub was piloted in the Pittsburgh region through a grant from the Department of Commerce. After a successful pilot period working with small and medium-sized firms, we have amassed proven learnings and best practices that uniquely position us to help manufacturers across the nation.
