State-of-the-Art Facility in Pittsburgh, PA

While we offer services for manufacturers and defense suppliers located across the nation, we also have a physical robotics demonstration lab at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA located at Mill 19A (4501 Lytle St. Pittsburgh, PA 15207). We are co-located in this space with Carnegie Mellon University’s Manufacturing Futures Institute (MFI) on the first and second floors of the building. ARM Member and close collaborator Catalyst Connection, a Pennsylvania Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), is located on the third floor of the building.

We leverage our 4,000 square foot physical location to complete proof-of-concepts and testing for our clients. This facility is flexible, reconfigurable, and modular, enabling us to easily customize our approach to each manufacturer. We also use our physical location to help manufacturers get hands-on with robotics equipment that they otherwise would not have access to without purchasing a system.

Overview of Robotics Capabilities at Our Facility

Our facility is agile and ever-evolving to showcase and make available the latest robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. We utilize a combination of industrial robotics and collaborative robots (cobots), as well as robotics enabled with artificial intelligence (AI) to work on the following manufacturing application areas and others:

  • Assembly
  • Inspection
  • Vision
  • Material Removal & Handling
  • Pick-and-Place
  • Welding
  • Sanding, Grinding, & Polishing

We also have 3D printing capabilities that allow us to print test parts, as well as pieces for robot end effectors. Our team also has software solutions to simulate, design, and model robotics systems.

Because our lab is easily reconfigured, our proof-of-concept process is fully customized to each manufacturer.
