Leading up to the meeting, we’ve highlighted a variety of reasons to attend, including our new Education & Workforce Development Project Call, which will be discussed in-detail during our EWD break-out session. This week, we’re highlighting our guest presenters.
ARM acts as the connecting tissue for a vast network of robotics, education/workforce, and manufacturing experts across the nation. With this network, we’re able to bring extraordinary speakers and resources to our membership. Throughout the meeting, we’ll highlight a number of guest presenters from distinguished key notes to focused break-out speakers. Read more about our guest speakers below.
Reason to Attend #9: Featured Speakers
ARM is proud to present two distinguished keynote speakers for the 2018 Member Meeting.
- Dr. Robert Sadowski serves as the United States Army’s Senior Scientist for Robotics within the Research, Technology and Integration Directorate at the United States Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC). He is also a member of the Scientific and Professional (ST) cadre of the Senior Executive Service. More about Dr. Sadowski.
- Dr. Martial Herbert is a Professor of Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University and Director of the Robotics Institute. His research interests include computer vision and robotics, particularly recognition in images and video data, model building and object recognition from 3D data, and perception for mobile robots and for intelligent vehicles. More about Dr. Herbert.
Dr. Sadowski and Dr. Herbert’s diverse knowledge and experts in robotics will set the perfect foundation for the rest of our meeting.
The Education and Workforce Development break-out session on November 7 will also highlight two guest presenters.
- Ron Painter joins us from National Association of Workforce Boards where he serves as the CEO. He’s also a critical member of our Education and Workforce Development Advisory Committee (EWAC) and will provide an overview of the workforce ecosystem as it relates to the Workforce Investment Boards. - Dr. Mark Johnson, Ph.D. also comes to the Member Meeting as a distinguished speaker, providing an overview of the Federal Ecosystem. Dr. Johnson is the Director of the Clemson University Center for Advanced Manufacturing. More about Dr. Johnson.
Finally, we are excited to showcase speakers from our project teams. A number of project team members will provide concise updates during our plenary session. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with them following their presentations during a poster session held during the networking reception on November 6.
The National ARM Member Meeting is the cornerstone event for our membership. Bringing hundreds of experts into Pittsburgh, this event provides critical time for project teaming, ARM and project updates, member feedback, and more.
