How to Use RoboticsCareer.org — Education Provider (Content Contributor)

May 5, 2021

The fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, has brought with it robotics and automation technologies that are redefining how we think of the manufacturing process. Along with the technology, however, comes the monumental task of training workers to operate, maintain, program, and design those robots.

RoboticsCareer.org is dedicated to meeting that task and providing a trained robotics workforce to the manufacturing industry by connecting individuals to education and training programs. A big part of that is cultivating a searchable database of the best robotics and automation programs around the country.

We invite education providers from all over to register with our organization and become part of the jobs solution for Industry 4.0.

In our quest to build a workforce capable of filling all the millions of positions that will be opening up in the manufacturing industry over the next ten years or so, we’ve made it as easy as possible to register your program with our database.

Below, we will discuss how to go about joining our mission.

How to Be Included

Before anything, check to see if your school and/or programs are already included!

We spent the summer and fall of 2020 collecting as much information as we could find about U.S.-based robotics and automation programs to include in our database. Who knows, yours might already be in there.

If your program or organization is not already included in our database, then you’ll have to go through a simple application process. You can find thorough instructions for the process in our How to get Started guide.

First Step: Make an Account

The first thing you should do to be included in our database is create an account for your organization. This function can be found on the top right of the RoboticsCareer.org homepage, under For Organizations.

If you’re already included in our database, then there should have been some  correspondence from us that included account information. If there is a problem retrieving this information, contact us at [email protected].

Second Step : Include Your Program

Once your account has been created, go to the same For Organizations menu and click on Include My Program.

You will be taken to a contact form where you can enter your organization’s information. In the “I am contacting ARM to” field, click and select “I would like to have my program included.”

Then, in the Message field, tell us why your program should be included in our database. Within 48 hours, your organization’s status will be updated. You won’t receive any notifications upon inclusion, so you’ll have to check your status on your own.

Inclusion is free, but you are tasked with the responsibility of updating and maintaining your information and content moving forward.

The ARM Institute Mission and What it Means to be Included

Robotics Career is powered by the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, which is sponsored by the Department of Defense. As such, we operate at the confluence of industry, government, and academia, and our standards for inclusion represent the best interests of all three of those areas.

Because our mission is so important to the future of the manufacturing industry, all of our included programs are thoroughly vetted. We want to be sure that we’re connecting potential workers with the education and training programs that are best suited to help transform them into the workforce of the future.

Inclusion in our database is an indication that your programs meet our standards for being a part of the mission to train an Industry 4.0-capable workforce. It’s also a way for your organization to have exposure amongst potential students in your area.

We believe that education and training is the key to successfully filling the millions of jobs that will be opening up over the next decade in manufacturing, and we’re extremely excited to be working with so many wonderful organizations in helping to make that happen.

If you’re interested in being a part of the ARM Institute’s mission, please reach out and contact us.
