Project
This project centers on the creation of modules to facilitate stackable credentials in robotics and automation that culminate in a Robotic Systems Certificate. The project includes the development of virtual reality (VR) supplements. In addition to student-focused modules, the project includes a careers pathway focus to educate students, counselors, and parents about careers in robotics-enabled industries.
Objective
Educate students, counselors, and parents about careers in manufacturing using Stackable credentials that result in a Robotics Systems Certification.
The program bridged the knowledge gap through which students may acquire the skills needed to perform highly-skilled, robotics apprenticeships in targeted areas of robust growth in South Carolina’s business community. This project leveraged the resources of South Carolina’s technical colleges (including the flagship Greenville Technical College), the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP), and partnering industry. It also incorporated the research and curriculum development expertise of Clemson University in implementing practical, evidence-based, innovative workforce development programs.
