SMART – Smart Manufacturing and Advanced Robotics Training

Project

The SMART project is a pre-apprenticeship program that creates stackable credentials culminating in the SMART certification. The lessons and developed curriculum center on observed skills gaps in the manufacturing workforce and gives students the fundamental skills needed to continue their technical training.

Objective

This program sets the foundation for students to pursue careers in manufacturing through engaging lessons. SMART uses a pre-apprentice program with stackable micro-credentials. This program resulted in:

  • Course materials
  • Pre-Apprenticeship to Apprenticeship (in PA)
  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Micro-Certification
  • Offer identified specialized tracks for industry members

This program later earned ARM Institute Endorsement.
